The EagleMAX is an analogue joystick, styled as a flightstick.
It has three compatibility modes:
- Analog: Treated like a single-tick version of the PlayStation Analog Joystick. You can toggle which stick. The throttle dial acts like up and down of the other stick, and P1 and P2 act like the other stick is at it's leftmost and rightmost positions.
- Wheel: Treated like a neGcon. Where the digital P1/P2 rocker is used for the analogue I and II buttons, stick left/right like the twist, and the hat switched works like the D-pad.
- Digital: The joystick is treated like a D-pad. You have to move it about half way along any axis to get a press to register.
Button functions are able to be reconfigured, and macros can be programmed. You also have 4 additional, assignable buttons.
The grip has that horrible rubberised coating that gets sticky after time.
rjt adds: 1998 release date in the infobox is taken from the serial number on mine. So not sure if this is the original release, just my best guess.
