Curious about the use of 'pro' as an adjective in controller names.

• Pro-Line joystick (Atari)
• The Pro-Stick on the Amiga
• ???? Neo Geo CD Controller Pro, not sure what's so pro about it compared to other Neo Geo sticks. Can't fidn date, could have been released alongside Neo Geo CD?
• 1995 ProController (Jaguar), adds three face buttons and 2 shoulder buttons
• 2009 Classic Controller Pro, adds n64-looking grips and different should button layout
• 2012 Wii U Pro Controller, official regular controller
• 2017 Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, official regular controller
